Program Overview
BRIGHT 2.0 is X Square Robot's developer program for university students, research teams, and independent builders working in embodied AI.
The program supports developers throughout the entire journey, from learning the fundamentals to building in simulation, testing on real robots, and deploying in real-world settings.
1. Campus Tech Talks
X Square Robot’s engineering, research, and product teams will visit leading universities and research labs around the world
to share the latest developments in embodied AI, foundation models, open-source research, and real-world applications.
2. Online Simulation Challenge
Developers can take on embodied AI challenges through the X Square Robot simulation platform.
Deploy models, build tasks, evaluate performance, and iterate quickly without the cost and complexity of physical hardware.
3. November Embodied AI Hackathon
This November, BRIGHT will host an expanded on-site hackathon with more than 1,000 square meters of competition space, an RMB 1 million prize pool,
and access to robot arms, data-collection systems, complete robot platforms, and computing resources.
Teams will develop and test their solutions in dynamic real-world environments, evaluating model stability, adaptability, and generalization.
4. Real-World Deployment
Take your work beyond simulation by building and validating complete manipulation tasks on robot arms or full robot platforms.
Projects may address industrial, home, or other complex real-world environments.
How to Participate

Check in at the event to earn 2 BRIGHT Points.
2. Run Your First Simulation
Use the X Square Robot simulation platform to experience model deployment and task development at a lower cost.
Complete the challenge to earn 5–8 BRIGHT Points.
3. Build a Real-World Robot Project
Move beyond official tutorials and build an original robot application for a real-world need.
Projects may use a robot arm or complete robot platform in industrial, home, or other practical settings.

Post on Xiaohongshu, tag @XSquareRobot, and include #BRIGHT.
Post on X using #XSquareRobot and #WALLOSS.
Projects that pass review will receive 20 BRIGHT Points.
- Monthly Featured Projects: Each month, we will select projects that stand out for their originality, technical depth, and real-world value.
Selected projects will receive an additional 10–20 BRIGHT Points and may be featured in the Ecosystem Cases section of the X Square Robot Developer Platform.
4. Qualify for the November Embodied AI Hackathon
Competition Format
Participants may use any model during the hackathon.
X Square Robot will release a dataset and baseline in advance
and provide hardware and computing resources at the venue.
Teams will adapt and train their models, implement the competition tasks, and present a live demo on site.
How to Apply

Ways to Qualify (Meet any one of the following requirements to qualify)
1. Invitation. Receive a direct invitation based on your academic background, research papers, technical projects, or previous work.
2. Simulation Qualifier. Rank among the top 10 on an X Square Robot simulation challenge and pass an online review.
3. BRIGHT Rising Star Qualifier. Earn the BRIGHT Rising Star certification with at least 31 BRIGHT Points and pass an online review.
Team Rules
Open to participants from all backgrounds. Individuals and teams are welcome. Teams may have up to three members.
Only one team member needs to qualify.

The BRIGHT Young Developer Fund supports outstanding embodied AI developers and teams pursuing ambitious technical ideas and original engineering work.
The fund will award RMB 100,000 every six months, with the first recipients announced in March 2027.
Developers and teams that reach the highest certification level, BRIGHT Polaris, with at least 301 BRIGHT Points will be eligible for funding.
BRIGHT Polaris developers will be invited to join the BRIGHT Expert Network and take a more active role in the developer ecosystem.
- Guest Judge: Join the official judging panel for BRIGHT hackathons, real-robot challenges, and frontier technology competitions.
- Challenge and Evaluation Design: Help design future competition tasks and contribute to simulation and real-robot evaluation standards.
- Featured Speaker: Speak at campus tours, BRIGHT salons, and industry events. Share your technical work and build your academic and professional profile.
